Packing goods to withstand the rigours of travel that your possessions may be subjected to during an overseas move is a specialist job in itself and is something we highly recommend you leave to a professional remover. We will professionally export wrap your belongings with the appropriate high quality packing materials to ensure everything remains undamaged and as well protected as possible during the voyage. This might include creating bespoke wooden cases for items such as antiques or paintings, which will be identified and discussed during the moving survey.
We provide all our international customers with information about the shipping vessel or flight information which you can use to check the progress of the ship or plane en route. Once your goods have arrived our destination move partner will be able to provide updates of the schedule for clearance and delivery.
Perrys are committed to ensuring that your goods are packed, tracked and shipped carefully so that they arrive at their destination safely. However, whilst in transit and/or storage your belongings can be exposed to a number of risks out of our control such as severe weather at sea for example. We will therefore advise you on, and supply you with, specific insurance to cover your possessions in transit.
We will pay the freight charges to the shipping line and so will ask you to settle your bill before the shipment leaves the UK. This advance payment policy is standard practice throughout the overseas removal industry.
We will be able to give you a good idea of the shipping time but please be aware that shipping line schedules are subject to change and can be affected by weather, re-routing, political events and other unexpected occurrences. The final delivery will also be subject to port and customs clearance times which can vary at different destinations.
Different destinations have different requirements, but details of restrictions will be made available with your quotation. The rules & regulations will help you decide what to take and what to leave behind.
We will appoint a Destination Partner to look after your goods when they arrive. They will organise customs clearance and delivery to your new home. The company will also arrange temporary storage if required. The Destination Partner will be an international moving company that works with us regularly on shipments both to and from the UK. Trust them as they are familiar with the local regulations, conditions, and culture.
Destinations outside the EU are zero rated for VAT.
Most moves of personal effects are tax and duty free but can vary depending on your destination.
